FET would be better than a transistor, I'll dig out what I used on the flood sensors. Andrew

That gateway is maintained by me and is located at the Dijkgraafweg. It is offline now, but next week it will be online again.

Hi Mark Thanks for getting in touch.. It looks like you have a couple of gateways up? Which ones did you go for? Thanks Sam

Hi Sam,We have bought the Multitech Conduit (210L - mLinux, non-cellular) - it is under £400.We are also building the €200 DIY gateway: https://github.com/mirakonta/lora_gateway/wiki ...again this is...

The Thatcham community is a little closer to Bristol than Reading, if only by a few miles. Things are kicking off in the Thames Valley with a loose collaboration between the different communities in...

You should re brand yourselves the M4 Corridor and make that the plan. London to Bristol just need a few nodes repeating along the way.... I was born in Bristol and would love to help but find myself...
View ArticleNode with ESP8266 and RFM95W
Hi all, I'm trying to create a node with an ESP8266 (Feather Huzzah from Adafruit) and a RFM95W. Does anyone know if this is possible and how? I also have a RN2483 but the RFM95W is much smaller......

The RN2483 is easier to use - you just need serial to talk to it. The RFM95W will need a whole LoRaWAN stack implementing on the ESP8226. Andrew

Ok, yes I found that already. However, it is quite a bit larger and how about battery usage. Does it compare to the RFM95W? And is there a LoRaWan stack available for ESP8266 right now? Best, Rene

Well @popcorn seems to have been busy with this. I'm also curious about the latest state of this project After having a second look the project seems to have gone the RN2483 route also. It would be...

Looks like this guy has a working ESP8266 and LoRa module combination: https://hackaday.io/project/4758-sentrifarm/log/20300-brief-update-esp8266-plus-lora And if you need a gateway take a look at...

Hey, is that a lot of consumption or not? Don't really know much about that;-)
View ArticleNode with ESP8266 and RFM95W
no that's not (compared to a ESP8266 in sleepmode) the RN2483 need an external MCU to send serial commands, so it depends(i am testing an attiny85 in sleepmode connected .. just for on/off signalling...

BoRRoZ: (i am testing an attiny85 in sleepmode connected .. just for on/off signalling things) Looks interesting, you expect this to give the lowest power consumption? Indeed with ESP8266 it will...
