New backend. How to connect?

After having created some users, applications, registered devices, subscribed successfully etc. suddenly I get an error message on authorizing users for my applications:

FATAL Failed to authorize user: 403 Forbidden

This was reported before by @Wojtek. In his case he was using an invalid application EUI though, and seemed to have isues with client certificates?. I'm using an App eui that is owned by the logged in user. I am authorizing an existing ttn user (even tried the logged in user which is already authorized). I have tried several platforms (Ubuntu 14, Ubuntu 12, Windows 10) all report the same. Tried logging in logging out, (re)setting the default application, creating a new user and app to no avail.

Anyone got any tips, I must be overlooking something obvious

There is one peculiarity: my applications are listed twice (or is this default behavior)?
