The use case is as follows:
One of my objectives is to enable a community of Thingsnetworkers running pollution sensors.
Of course, the results have to be published in order for everyone (the public) to see where the city is more or less polluted.
But, what could I do if some big company reuses these data and takes benefit from them (by stepping up their visitors counter for example)?
The community bought gateways and sensors and somebody else benefits free of charge from these investments.
That's you'd be agree, acceptable for a foundation. Not for a community.
I participated in a number of projects this way : openStreetMap, Blitzordnung, etc.
These projects have gained such prominence that it would be idiot from such big company not to refer to the work they have done.
Google tried with OpenStreetMap and had to turn back in a sheepish way.
That was my concerns,
