Single Channel (Low Cost) Gateway

Hi,

the actual gateways (Semtech, Kerlink, Lorank 8) are multi-channel gateways using the SX1301 multi-channel modem and SX1257/SX1255 RF transceivers. The cost is in range U$D 400 / 1500.
Alternatives are TTN gateway ~U$D 200 (Kickstarter) and Raspberri Py + Multitech mCard ~U$D 200.

But i was wondering if there is a chance to make a single-channel gateway using SX1272 or SX1276 RF transceivers and a Raspberry Pi modifying the TTN Gateway (https://github.com/TheThingsNetwork/lora_gateway). The cost would drop to ~U$D 75 using a Multitech mDot plus a Raspberry Pi.
