Extract Json array. (Example needed)

I only work with TTN and read the Json from there. I Think the limit parameter is something I want at the moment, as I want to store the value in database and the huge data-Array makes it complex for me. It would be great if you have documentation scenarios to share or on how to go about Reading and Writing Json from/to TTN Node..
