During the test the only change was to stop basic_pkt_fwd at 21:00 and start gps_pkt_fwd. Before 21:00 the packets are being received in a regular pattern. After 21:00 reception becomes erratic.
I'll be looking into what the options are for building my own forwarder over the weekend.
@johan do you think someone at MultiTech might want to look into this? TTN uses the status packets to detect if a gateway is alive and gps_pkt_fwd provides status. When using basic_pkt_fwd the gateways shows as down on ttnstatus.org.
