Well I grew up on a farm, 3 of my brothers and several friends are farmers. So yes I do talk to them on a very regular basis. And yes they are interested in these kind of innovations. As an example: one of them is investing together with a few other farmers and a machine builder in the development of a new kind of tractor. The total costs of that project exceeds the funds currently raised by this Kickstarter project and it is still unclear if there will be a business case for it in the end. (I think here is, also I hope the TTN will exceed that amount before the end of the funding round)
Not all farmers wear wooden shoes or are chewing tobacco 
(and even those that do, might have an open mind towards innovations of which the business-case is not yet proven).
I understand you have doubts about this use-case?
BTW I do agree with your statement in the "Use cases in Agriculture" topic that we should first see what is happening already, and next find out what TTN could do to help (I would skip the "to reduce cost", there are other benefits like "increase revenue", "increase environmental friendlyness", etc.)
