Today I tried an experiment I was almost sure about it would fail... but it didn't...
From my office in Hoofddorp on the 4th floor West side, I used my Microchip Technology Mote to send a bunch of packets. And... they were received by the Gateway located at Rockstart (Herengracht). That is almost 15 kms !
If that is really its location (please confirm) , the range is really good.
