The issue with the web page has now cleared up (two hours later)... I was able to register again.

I count the steps and it is ... 15 meters, a thick wall included  But I will bring it in the back of the garden, if you like that better
what does 'CRC_FAIL: 100.00%' mean ?
At the moment it is around one time

May 11 20:01:16 ttn-gateway ttn-gateway[418]: # RF packets received by concentrator: 1
May 11 20:01:16 ttn-gateway ttn-gateway[418]: # CRC_OK: 0.00%, CRC_FAIL: 100.00%, NO_CRC: 0.00%

on two/three times

May 11 20:01:16 ttn-gateway ttn-gateway[418]: # RF packets received by concentrator: 0
May 11 20:01:16 ttn-gateway ttn-gateway[418]: # CRC_OK: 0.00%, CRC_FAIL: 0.00%, NO_CRC: 0.00%

Compliance: Need help to reduce gateway TX power

I'm no expert, but I think with this regard only the gain in dBd (in reference to a dipole) needs to be considered, not the gain in dBi (in reference to an isotropic antenna). The value in dBd can be obtained by subtracting 2.15 from the dBi value: http://knowledge.digi.com/articles/Knowledge_Base_Article/Antenna-Gain-dBi-vs-dBd-Decibel-Detail Therefore even when not considering cable loss, you don't need to reduce TX power.

Since a few weeks my Lorank8 gateway says always not connected on the console. I have now tried several time to add the gateway again but still nu luck. I see the gateway is sending the data to TTN but the only thing is that I don't see my own gateway in the console.

Designing a breakout board for the ESP32 / RFM9X

Ah yes, that backbench.. Been looking at Osh Park for some shared projects but no dice.

It would be nice to have some design with power (battery clip, usb, LDO), ESP32 footprint, RFM footprint and perhaps some meander and/or uFL for the LoRa antenna. Some GPIOs exposed. Breakout is nice, but when it's an all-in-one I won't be needing the breadboard.

I'm lacking the skills on KiCad, but I have some PCB design at work on the ESP32 without the LoRa part. I'll ask the schematics designer if he's willing to contribute to the community.

Which LMIC ports are emerging? Is anything working yet?

I guess the easiest is to get a LoPy which is essentially an ESP32 + Sx1276 and just use ESP-IDF directly.

I've successfully joined my local LoRa network (North Wollongong) using an mDot.

When I issue at+ping i get the response "pong not received".

Is this a feature that is disabled on some gateways?

Thanks for the reply,

yeah i have confirmed that my arduino-lmic is working properly because i have tested this arduino-lmic to raspberry pi gateway for uplink only and its working fine. But i want downlink also that why i used JBraam code which is in LUA for uplink and downlink both. Please if its possible provide me your's code for node and gateway so that i can modify my code using your's code.

Thanks and regards
Rohit

I'm not completely sure what the ping command does exactly, but I suspect it sends the LinkCheck MAC command, which is perfectly supported by the network. You do need to register your device in the console for this to work. When you do this you should also see messages received and sent in the "Data" view on the console.

Session keys remain valid until the device does a new join.

I checked our servers, and we indeed have no record of your gateway. Please check its configuration and make sure it forwards to router.eu.thethings.network port 1700.

1) I think building this as an "integration" would be best. If you go to the "Integrations" tab in your application on the console, you should definitely check out the "HTTP Integration" that simply does a HTTP POST to a remote URL.

1A) Send an email to johan@thethingsnetwork.org and we'll see if we can arrange this.

1B) There is no such thing as public applications. Application owners have to actively enable sharing of data.

2) We are looking at more efficient ways, but for now this is the way to go

I encountered problems in the process of configuring the gateway

1) It looks like you reset the gateway to factory defaults between the attempts to run the scripts or removed the contents of /var/config/lora. Please run:
rm /var/config/.installler
opkg remove mp-packet-forwarder
and run the installer again.
2) Can you computer PING google? For website access there might be a proxy in place which does nothing for ICMP messages.
