New backend. How to connect?

No results in MQTT can be caused by:
- Not using the credentials for the application for which the node was registered (for ttnctl subscribe this may happen with multiple applications and not issuing the ttnctl applications use < right id > command)
- Node not using the device address and/or right keys. (For ABP set DevAddr, App**S**Key and NwkSKey)
- Node not in reach of gateway.

I can't think of any other obvious things right now...

Hi Dan,
Interested in deploying LoRa in the Front Range area. Rather than continuing a conversation on this board, perhaps you could give me a call and we can get together over a coffee.
Phone number below signature in previous post.
Best,
David

Do you have any evidence for your theory whatsoever?

Otherwise: File under: Conspiracy theory speculation.

Which appears to by a bit incompatible with the surveillance nightmare @coer is asking for.

Not a hardware engineer ... then I would go for an easy plug & play solution.
I used the Raspberry Pi gateway board from LinkLabs: just plug the board on your RPi, download and configure the software and start your node development.

I have a webpage with some information on how to do this - would be nice to know if I missed something

I will provide laser-able DXF files for the case as soon as I can test this myself (I completely ran out of 3mm plexiglass...)

Cheers,
Rob

Your text "the current Raspbian Jessie release" is not a good specification as I learned from bitter experience

Except for the signal I assume. That won't travel far under water

Not watertight at all. It really is designed for use indoor.

sure: PCB outer dimensions are roughly 135 mm x 125 mm.

No not really. But good enough for a floating under the surface device or just outside in the dutch weather.

Does the gateway run Linux or uCLinux? Where? in the PIC32?

As far as I know, the LoRa mini PCIe card is made by Mcrochip. This card has any MCU?

IMHO, a small MCU in the mini-PCIe runs the lora gateway library and the PIC32 runs the packet forwarder, isn't it?

Correct, but we don't run Linux but we use Harmony on the PIC32.

The LoRa PCIe card is made in collaboration between Microchip and the Things Network and will indeed have it's own MCU. This module will eventually be a for sale for everyone.

Thanks for your feedback @TijnOnlijn

Interesting 'gap' of documentation you're mentioning here. I agree that there is a lot of technical information out there on the Forum / wiki and we're also working hard to create some simple tutorials to help people get started.

I'm very interested in hearing about your struggles and your thoughts on how to overcome them. It would be great if you could share them on the forum (or send them to me personally: laurens@thethingsnetwork.org)

Does it have a RTC to trigger regular wakeups instead of having to us the watchdog timer? Just concerned that its likely to not last all that long on batteries if this is the case.
